How I create your perfect haircut

I focus on solid, fundamental haircutting that gives solid results. My cutting repertoire is an amalgamation of decades practice and observation. I’ve taken bits and pieces of geometric English haircutting and the French method of haircutting with the intent of finding a style that’s best for my clients.

I want my clients to look their best and, when they leave, I want them to feel like they look their best, but I also don’t want them to be tied to an extensive styling process when finishing the cut I did on them. I don’t set out to give anybody a haircut that requires 30-45 minutes of using a round brush, blow drying and hot irons, unless they’ve requested a style with intensive upkeep.

My mindset behind hair cutting is that it needs to look as good with minimal effort as it does with maximum effort. I always choose a cut that looks great whether my client wakes up, shakes their head and goes, shampoos the night before, slept on their style and goes or if it’s blown out and curled. A cut with layers requires more work for my clients at home and not everyone has the time to maintain a layered look. I give my clients cuts that not only look good on them, but allows them the freedom to get up and go without much effort.

When it comes to creating a specific look for a client, I’m more interested in knowing what they don’t want than what it is they think they want.

What a client doesn’t want will tell me volumes about the style they need to look and feel their best.
